ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) in coordination with Durr Heavy Construction will be performing sub-surface drainage and road extension work on W 10th St. (LA 637) in Reserve for the next year beginning on June 22, 2015. The work is associated with DOTD's LA 637 widening project.
The contractor will begin construction at Airline Hwy (US 61) and work south toward River Road (Hwy 44) on W 10th St., weather permitting. Beginning June 22, W. 10th St. will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of Airline; however, additional closures will occur at different locations throughout the year. Local traffic will be maintained at detour points. All residents and commerce located on W 10th St. will have access to their homes and businesses using alternate routes.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) and the contractor will be posting detour and road closure signs to notify motorists of alternative routes. Flagmen will also assist with routing motorists to proper detour locations.
The Communications Department will notify businesses and residents in the area of the work in advance and remain in contact throughout construction. In an effort to continue daily services and safety, emergency responders and garbage collection are aware of the construction and have made necessary contingency plans.
Motorists are encouraged to use the alternate routes that are advertised in an effort to control traffic on local roads. More information on the specific location of closures will be released once construction begins. Road closure information will also be posted on the St. John Parish website at www.sjbparish.com, government access channel (15/99) and social media pages.
