Two Duplex Residences Riddled with Gunfire in Cambridge Subdivision

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 7:41 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 800 block of Revere Drive in LaPlace for the report of gunfire.

Deputies arrived finding a duplex residence shot multiple times. Projectiles riddled the exterior and interior of both apartments. A 60-year-old female in one apartment was uninjured, and an 18- year-old female, a 21-year-old male, and an infant in the other apartment were uninjured.

Less than 2 hours later and a few blocks away, deputies responded to the 500 block of Fife Lane in LaPlace for the report of gunfire. Again, deputies arrived finding a duplex residence shot multiple times. Projectiles riddled the exterior and interior of both apartments.

A 60-year-old female in one apartment was uninjured, and a 26-year-old mother with her three children and her 24-year-old boyfriend in the other apartment were uninjured.

The investigations of these two incidents are ongoing. Detectives have not determined if the two incidents are related. Citizens with information about this incident that call Crimestoppers do not have to testify in court and may qualify for a cash reward.
